Fiona Heylan has 25 years experience in animal handling and care. She has worked as a volunteer for RSPCA Victoria and NSW and has direct animal handling experience with both unwell and healthy animals.
Fiona has completed the Canine Myofunctional Certificate with the National College of Traditional Medicine and is currently working towards completing her Small Animal Naturopathy Diploma. She has also studied Bach Flower Therapies with the Bach International Education Programme (the Bach Flower Institute of Australia). Fiona incorporates her knowledge of healing remedies in both massage and also dog training.
Fiona trained with David Weston (Kintala Club) in the early 1990s with her own dogs and was so impressed with David's method that she has gone on to complete the Dog Training Instructor's Course with the Kintala Club. Fiona is a qualified dog trainer and is a member of The Australian Association of Gentle Modern Dog Training Instructors Inc.
Fiona has a deep interest in the human animal bond, and has developed courses in animal bereavement. In 2005 she established the Animal Loss Support Group which runs monthly at the RSPCA in Burwood East.
